Meghan Trainor is hitting back at criticism of welcoming her baby via a surrogate.
Months after welcoming her third child, Mikey Moon, via surrogacy, the All About that Bass singer shed light on her motherhood journey.
The newly minted mother confessed that she was actually nervous about the reaction she would receive, a fear that stemmed from the online criticism she faced following her 60-pound weight loss.
‘I didn’t look [at the comments]”, the Grammy winner revealed during the recent performance at Kylie Kelce isn’t going to lie podcast.
“I totally knew it – because it was the hate I was already getting for changing clothes just because I looked different because I was taking care of myself – so I was like, ‘Oh, they hate me now. They’re not going to like this. And it was a cloud of tears every night of just worry.’
The doting mother said she doesn’t want people to attack her daughter because of the way she entered this world.
“I want my daughter to come into this world and not have everyone attacking her because of the way she got here. That was all going through my mind. But my team was with me, my therapist was with me, everyone was so supportive. My husband said, ‘Anyone can give us a blowjob.'”
Meghan explained her reason for choosing the path of surrogacy: “[We had] heartbreaking, having to make big decisions and struggling with my health and almost heading towards an autoimmune disease. So there are so many conversations back and forth. Then we thought: the safest way is to do it through a surrogate.
Meghan is also mum to sons Riley, five, and Barry. She shares all her children with her husband Daryl Sabara.
