Miley Cyrus celebrated her 33rd birthday on Sunday with a subdued party and a heartfelt message to fans.
The Grammy winner, who turned 33 on Nov. 23, shared black-and-white photos on Instagram the same day from what appeared to be an intimate dinner with close friends.
“33 is already burning bright thanks to the warmth of your sweet birthday wishes,” she wrote. “All I want this year is to laugh more with the people who give me the little smile lines that are starting to appear. I love you all.”
The post quickly drew heartwarming messages from her inner circle. Selena Gomez said, “HAPPIEST BDAYS!!” while her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, added, “Happy birthday, Smiley Miley!”
The Flowers hitmaker has been outspoken lately about embracing change, even considering the possibility of eventually stepping away from celebrity life.
Speaking to Pamela Anderson for CR Fashion Book in September, she reflected on the career she chose at age 11.
“I made this deep commitment, and I never doubted it,” she said. But she acknowledged that her relationship with fame could change. “I don’t fear the day when it’s no,” she added. “There may come a season where none of this interests me anymore, and that’s OK.”
