Neve Campbell has admitted it was a “very difficult decision” not to sign Scream 6.
The 52-year-old actress, who played Sidney Prescott in every chapter of the horror franchise, revealed she declined Scream 6 because it didn’t reflect her worth.
“When I made that decision, I just didn’t think I could live with it walking on set,” Neve said during an interview on CBS mornings. “The offer I was presented did not equate to the value I added to the franchise.”
“When I said goodbye to it, I thought that was it. I knew there was a good chance that this would be it,” she added.
Neve confessed that she was sad to know that the production was going on without her.
“I just didn’t think I could live with it walking on set. I just didn’t feel right,” she said. “When I knew they had their first day of shooting and I wasn’t there, I thought, ‘That sucks.’ But at the same time I knew my decision was right.”
Now Nene is all set to reprise her role Scream 7 after resolving her salary dispute.
