Nick Jonas commemorates his late girlfriend Maya Kibbel on her 31st birthday.
On his Instagram account, the 33-year-old singer paid a heartfelt tribute to his late sister from another mother on Friday.
“I picked up my phone so many times today to call you because as long as I can remember this has been your day. Your birthday, April 3, was etched in my memory,” Nick wrote, sharing a nostalgic photo from his childhood.
The Sucker hitmaker continued, “I will forever cherish the time God has given us together. Now please be at peace in heaven and blow out your candles with the angels.”
‘You are and will always be my sister. I miss you so much. Congratulations Maya,” Nick added.
For those unfamiliar, Nick’s childhood friend Maya passed away on March 7 after her heart and lungs stopped functioning.
Maya’s mother, Kiyoko Kibbel, announced the heartbreaking news on social media.
“She fought hard, but her body gave out. Early on July 3, she collapsed and her heart and lungs stopped working. It was too late and she died in the emergency room,” says Maya’s mother.
Nick wrote at the time that he was always there for her.
“My sister forever. Here for you always @coach_kibbel,” wrote the Jumanji actor.
