Nikki Glaser has revealed she plans to avoid predictable jokes about Leonardo DiCaprio when she takes the stage this year. Golden Globe Awards.
The 41-year-old comedian will return to host the ceremony for the second year in a row in 2026.
She recently opened up to PEOPLE Magazine about her approach to creating new material for the controversial evening.
Glaser made it clear that she won’t lean into the worn-out trope surrounding DiCaprio’s dating history with younger women.
“There’s a lot to laugh about this year – and the star power in the room will be bigger than ever. I mean, bigger than last year,” she began.
“I have to continue to wrap my head around the type of people that are going to be in this room.”
Glaser then clarified that while DiCaprio may still get a mention, it won’t be in the way audiences are used to.
“I mean, Leo’s vape pen is going to be there. I’m so excited to see that,” she joked.
“There will be some big, big hitters in the room, and there will be podcasts this year, which will also be hilarious to joke about,” she continued.
“I don’t think I’m going to go with the Leo jokes that we’ve heard 25 times. I think we’ve heard it all – that’s been done enough.”
“My goal is always to try not to do what is expected, or to challenge myself to not say what people expect, and to try something different,” she concluded.
