Noah Schnapp has come a long way since he first appeared on the Netflix series in 2016.

According to the latest report from PEOPLE MagazineSchnapp said he had a say in scenes from the final season of Stranger things.

As fans will know, the first part of the current season revealed Schnapp’s character, Will Byers, who channels Vecna’s powers.

Speaking about his character reveal, he claimed: “The powers weren’t something I’ve ever experienced or had to work with before”

“And I was just really excited to play with it.”

Schnapp went on to explain that the lack of precedent actually gave him more freedom in how he approached the role.

“It’s just fun because there are no rules for that kind of thing. It’s just in the script, there’s no reference, there’s no guidelines,” Schnapp continued.

“So it’s been fun just creating and playing with that this season.”

Looking back on his early years on the show, Schnapp admitted that he once doubted the value of his input.

“I would say that this year for the first time I really learned how to form my own opinion and perspective and gain insights [creators Matt and Ross Duffer] and saying, ‘Well, I think this would actually work and this makes sense for Will,'” he shared.

The actor noted that it is important to learn “that your opinion is important and valuable.”

“When I was younger on the show, I didn’t think I had an opinion important enough to make a decision,” he recalls.
