Oasis have turned down the opportunity to perform at The Sphere in Las Vegas.
After reuniting for a string of successful shows this year, brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher have been inundated with offers for more gigs, but the pair and their bandmates are said to have turned down an offer from The Sphere based on advice from their friend Bono.
A source said The sun‘s Bizarre column: “Noel has always adored U2’s ability to put on great shows, from Zooropa to PopMart and the Achtung Baby revival at The Sphere.”
They continued: “Oasis now have the power and money to mount a residency at The Sphere after their Live ’25 run.”
“Their graphics team is excellent and they have the skills to design an immersive experience for fans of The Sphere, featuring images of the band from their Manchester days to the present,” said the insider.
“But when the prospect of appearing at The Sphere came up, Noel said he wasn’t keen on it,” they also said, adding: “He remembered Bono complaining about the enormous costs of staging a show there.”
“He has always been mindful of the cost of their shows to him and the band,” the source said.
“But he’s not going to waste money on a spectacle that will make him and everyone else lose money,” they concluded.
