Pakistan beat Sri Lanka to seal unbeaten Commonwealth Beach Handball title

Karachi: Pakistan won the inaugural Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship 2025 title on Monday and defeated Sri Lanka in the final to seal an undefeated run that marked a historic moment for the sport of handball in the country.

In the championship decision maker, Pakistan Sri Lanka 2–0 with fixed scores of 26–18 and 28-12, with both attacking flair and defensive resilience. The Triumph in Kulhudhuffushi City completed a flawless campaign for the Green Shirts, which won every match from the group stage to the final.

Pakistan started their journey in an emphatic style and surpasses Archrivals India 2–0 in their opening match. They followed with victories against the Maldives, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Bangladesh in the group phase to secure a place in the semi -final. On Sunday, Pakistan was once again past Bangladesh to book their place in the final.

The hero of the final was Muhammad Shahid Bashir, who delivered a striking performance and was appointed player of the game. His contribution was decided in the security of the first international beach handbeam of Pakistan.

In the Bronze Medal Playoff host country Maldives gave their fans something to celebrate by beating Bangladesh and claiming third place.

The inaugural Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship concluded with Pakistan who is long as his very first champions.
