Karachi: Pakistan received their Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship Campaign on a flying start with a commander 2-0 win over traditional rivals India on Thursday.
Pakistan played at the Khedhufushi City Beach Handball Court and dominated both sets to register a commander’s victory. Pakistan achieved the first set 26-9 before he set up the pace in the second and drove to a 34-12 finish.
Ahmed Hassan Baig delivered a striking performance for Pakistan and was called the man of the competition.
The event, which runs from 18 to 24 September, has six participating teams. The competition is played on the basis of competition, with the top four that anticipates the semi -final.
Pakistan will be confronted on Friday with the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
In a moment of contrast with recent tensions in cricket between the two countries, the Indian handball players chose not to break the spirit of sport and they shake hands with Pakistani players.
