Pakistan’s Ashab Irfan, Noor Zaman reach Nash Cup Squash semifinals

Lahore: Pakistan’s pumpkin players Ashab Irfan and Noor Zaman went on Friday to the semi -final of the Nash Cup tournament with commander, beating India’s Veer Chotrani and Colombia’s Ronald Palomino, respectively.

ASHAB IRFAN yielded one of the striking versions of the Nash Cup Squash Tournament on Friday, achieving a dramatic comeback to eliminate the feather Chotrani from India and to secure a place in the semi -final.

Ashab, sown no. 8, looked early in problems when Chotrani, the number 4 seed, took over control over the match with a start of 9-11, 4-11. But the 21-year-old Pakistani revived impressively to make a comeback after going down 2 sets, using aggressive shot and sharp retrievals to change the momentum to his advantage. He claimed three consecutive games with 11-8, 11-8, 11-8 to close a 3-2 victory.

The result confirmed Ashab’s reputation as one of the brightest growing squash perspectives in Pakistan.

In another match, the Noor Zaman van Pakistan also booked his place in the last four with a 3-1 win over Ronald Palomino of Colombia. The fifth seed started strongly with an 11-4 opening match, dropped the second 10-12, but quickly got control back to close the match 11-7, 11-7 in 52 minutes.

With both Ashab Irfan and Noor Zaman Advancing, Pakistan will have two representatives in the semi -final of the $ 31,250 tournament, a PSA World Series event.
