Paris Hilton has a “superpower”!
Since the TV personality was diagnosed with ADHD in her 20s, she decided to see her neurodiversity as her “superpower.”
“I wouldn’t be the person I am today without it,” Hilton said PEOPLE.
The DJ, model and author, is a champion for neurodiversity and inclusivity. That’s why she opened her front door – literally – to a three-part video series about how she optimized her home and office for herself and team members with ADHD.
Hilton shares with the magazine why she chose to be so open about her ADHD journey — and what drives her to be an advocate.
“I just really wanted to share strategies and different things I’ve learned through dealing with my ADHD, both in my personal and professional life, and I really hope that sharing my experiences can help reduce the stigma of ADHD and make neurodiversity relatable,” she said.
“I’ve just seen how so many people who think differently feel so alone, so I really wanted to create space and show how I embrace and utilize my ADHD, and they can do that too,” Paris Hilton concluded.
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects attention, impulse control, and activity levels.
People with ADHD may experience concentration problems, restlessness, forgetfulness and impulsive behavior. It is related to differences in brain function and neurotransmitters, especially dopamine.
ADHD is not simply a lack of discipline; it is a medical condition that can affect daily functioning.
