Pete Davidson looks back on the moment he realized he and Elsie Hewitt were meant for each other.
The couple, who went public in March 2024 and later announced they were expecting their first child together, briefly returned to social media during a one-day takeover of Bumble’s Instagram Stories on November 18.
There they talked about how quickly things clicked between them.
Elsie said she had strong instincts from the very beginning. During their first dinner, she told Pete, “Don’t think I’m crazy, but I just know you’re going to be the father of my children.”
Pete remembered having the same feeling and replied at the time, “I know.” Laughing, Elsie pointed to her current pregnancy and said, “And now look at us!”
Pete also recalled another early moment that made him smile. Elsie tried to make their budding relationship fun with a unique suggestion.
“She says, ‘I have a standing reservation at an escape room, so we can go anytime,’” he joked, adding that his response was actually, “Oh, cool, dude.”
With a baby on the way, the two focus on the new memories they will soon make as parents.
Pete said they are especially excited “to dress the baby just like we do.”
He has spoken openly about what kind of father he hopes to be, explaining this during an interview in August The Breakfast Club that he looks forward to “being able to take care of something and show it the childhood that I didn’t have.”
As he put it, “I guess you’re just trying to give them what you didn’t have, and what you didn’t like, don’t do it.”
