New York: a tribute to the late Princess Diana and a collection that was almost completely made of sustainable clothing, belonged to the breathtaking shows that illuminated the second full day of the New York Fashion Sunday.
The American designer Tory Burch, a paragon of Bohemian chic style, was surprised an audience -littered audience with soft floral prints and flowering, puffed sleeves that had a clear feeling from the 80s.
The 53-year-old, who presents a clothing empire with a value of more than $ 1 billion in annual turnover, said that the Spring 2020 collection was inspired by the personality of Princess Diana instead of her wardrobe per se.
“I always admired her and I wanted to step very carefully because she is clearly a style icon and I did not want to refer. But I felt that she had a fearlessness and was a humanitarian that she was very inspiring,” Burch told AFP.
Princess Diana, known as Lady Diana Spencer Before she married the Royal Family of Great -Britain, died in a car accident in Paris in 1997. Her restless marriage to Prince Charles was well documented, just like her extensive charity work.
“She’s apart,” Burch continued. “Her compassion, her integrity and her his mother and through difficult times in a public way where she was clearly not comfortable with. I can deal with that,” added the three times married designer.
The English actress Emily Blunt and the American singer-songwriter Charlotte Lawrence were among the celebrities who keep an eye on the designs of Burch during the catwalk show in the Brooklyn Museum.
Burch said she liked to show her husband Pierre-Yves Roussel as CEO of her company of the same name, of which he became a member earlier this year after leaving luxury goods Behemoth LVMH.
“It’s a huge relief. I’ve been doing it for 14 years and just to be able to work on product and brand is very free for me,” she said.

Elsewhere, the Spring 2020 collection of designer Hillary Taymour confirmed its dedication to sustainable fashion Sunday.
Almost all 100 items shown her Collina Strada label on Sunday were made from recycled materials.
Highlights were a series of printed jeans, wax dresses and psychedelic skirts.
“Every day I feel that I am increasingly learning what is the right thing to do and I try to constantly pursue that,” she told AFP.
“We are in a climate crisis and people have to think about it. There is nowhere else to go. I just try to learn as much as possible and to be the best person I can,” she added.
