Priscilla Presley admits she lied about being cast in a TV show

Decades ago, Priscilla Presley auditioned for Dallas – an 80s soap opera – and landed the role of Jenna Wade. But now she confessed that she lied about some details of it to get it.

“I lied, to be honest with you. I never saw the show. I never saw Dallas. So I went in and did the interview, and they asked me, have I seen the show? And I said, ‘Oh yeah, it’s great.’ It’s a really good show. I love the cast,” the 80-year-old admitted during the 27th annual Old Bags Luncheon at the Breakers in Palm Beach.

Besides lying while watching the show DallasPresley recalls that in a state of “nervousness” she also lied about visiting the city when asked about it.

“Then he says, ‘Have you ever been to Dallas?’ And I said, ‘No, but I’d like to go to Dallas. I’ve just heard so much about it.”

Presley, a casting director from Dallas, remembers asking a series of questions, and in her head at the time she thought, “I’m in big trouble. I’m really in big trouble here. Help me out of this.”

Ultimately, she got the part. “We were kind of hanging out in the office and back and forth. I don’t know how I got it, but I get it.”

Dallas ran from 1978 to 1991, with 14 seasons starring Larry Hagman, Ken Kercheval, Barbara Bel Geddes, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Victoria Principal and Charlene Tilton.
