Priyanka Chopra mourns the sudden death of ‘Queen of Bollywood’ Asha Bhosle.
Using her Instagram account, the Bollywood diva paid a heartfelt tribute to the legendary singer, reflecting on the impact Asha had on her life and on Indian music.
“There are some losses that feel like losing a piece of your childhood, your memories, your home. Asha ji was that for so many of us,” Priyanka wrote.
She further wrote, “Her voice was not just part of Indian music, it was part of the backdrop of our lives. It played through our homes growing up, through family gatherings, through heartbreak, through joy, through the silent and loud moments that became memories before we knew it.”
The Fashion actress added that Asha’s influence spanned generations.
“For my generation and so many before and after, she wasn’t just a legend we admired, she was a constant,” Priyanka wrote. “A voice so eternal that it felt like it would always be there. It’s hard to put into words what it means to lose someone whose art helped shape the emotional landscape of an entire nation.”
“Thank you, Asha ji, for giving us a life full of songs, feeling and beauty. Because it is one of the greatest gifts music has ever known,” she continued.
To conclude on an emotional note, the Chris actress added, “Rest in peace. Your voice will live on where all true legends do, forever in our hearts.”
For those who don’t know, Asha died of multiple organ failure on Sunday, April 12, at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, India.
