RAYE fueled speculation about the James Bond theme after an iHeart Radio Awards interview went viral.
Host Smallzy’s chat with the singer at the iHeart Radio Awards caused a stir after he captioned it on Instagram: “Did Raye just give away that she’s doing the next ‘BOND’ theme song?”
On the red carpet at the bash in Los Angeles last week, he asked RAYE: “The rumors might start with a Bond theme.”
Hesitating by her answer, the Where is my husband? hitmaker said: “I don’t know what to say, I’m nervous.”
“No, there are no rumors, now I’m going to turn red and it looks like there is a rumor. No, there is no rumor,” she added. And if RAYE no 007 so far she’s ready.
“Obviously if they ever want to contact me about this, my inbox is open,” she said.
Earlier in March, William Hill revealed that Olivia Dean was the first choice to record the 007 theme, following her standout performance at this year’s BRIT Awards.
The Man I need singer, who won multiple categories and delivered one of the evening’s most talked-about performances, was the bookmaker’s even money favorite for the soundtrack Bond‘s next outing.
Lee Phelps, spokesman for William Hill, said Olivia’s momentum clearly resonated with Bond fans and punters alike.
“Olivia Dean’s clean sweep and live performance at the BRIT Awards clearly made a good impression with James Bond fans, and she is now our even money favorite to deliver the next 007 theme,” he explained.
“After a weekend in which Dean was crowned Britain’s new pop queen, it’s no surprise that she’s eager to open the credits for the next Bond film,” Phelps further stated as he explained the choice of singer who could be considered for the 007 theme.
