Reba McEntire doesn’t want her fans and family to fight over her ‘secret wedding’.
Reba appeared on the Today show on Monday, December 1 to promote season 2 of her sitcom, Happy’s placewhich also stars her fiancé, Rex Linn.
During the chat, host Savannah Guthrie noted, “You met your husband there too. So Rex, good old Rex…”
Reba wasted no time in correcting the anchor and said, “Wait a minute. Before everyone at home has a fit, we just got engaged.”
Guthrie quickly apologized for doing it wrong.
The singer continued, saying, “My family will be like, ‘Wait, you didn’t tell us?!’ “
Elsewhere in the interview the Young Sheldon star noted how she enjoys working with her partner.
“He’s a workaholic and he loves to rehearse,” says the Vote coach said about her husband. “I’m not so much into the rehearsal part, so he really makes sure that I know my lines, that I’m ready to go when we have tape day. We’re having a blast.”
“We are so thankful and grateful that we get to go to work together, work together and then go home together,” she added.
Reba also said that Rex proposed last December, but they couldn’t announce it due to the Los Angeles fires in January.
“A lot of people didn’t know. And when he asked me to marry him, it was Christmas Eve a year ago. So we wanted to announce it when we got back to LA, but the fires happened. And there was no room for our joy in the devastating situation that everyone else was in,” Reba explained.
