Justin Baren, one of the founders of The Redwalls, has passed away at the age of 40.
The former teenage rock star’s father, Martin Baren, announced the musician’s death on social media.
Martin took to her Instagram account to share that Justin died “peacefully” on November 28.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our friend, brother and band member, Justin Baren,” Justin’s father began the lengthy post.
He further wrote, “Justin was an essential part of The Redwalls. His energy, intuition and raw musicianship helped shape who we were. Not just as a band, but as a group of kids trying to make something meaningful together.”
“The cause of Justin’s death has not yet been officially determined. He will be greatly missed, and his memory will be a blessing,” he continued.
Concluding the message, Justin’s father added, “We are grateful for the years, the music and all the memories we shared.”
For those unfamiliar, Justin and his brother Logan formed the rock band The Redwalls when they were in high school.
