Reese Witherspoon has paid a heartfelt tribute to James Van Der Beek following his tragic death.
For those unfamiliar, James breathed his last on Wednesday, February 11, after losing his battle with colorectal cancer. He was 48.
Last year, the actor shot his scenes for the upcoming film Legally blonde prequel series Elle.
Reese, who serves as executive producer Elleshared on her Instagram account that she was “devastated” when she heard about James’ passing.
“What an extraordinary, talented man who also showed great kindness and grace in his every action,” she wrote alongside a photo of him.
“I pray that all the angels will watch over his family during this difficult time,” Reese added.
Actress Lexi Minetree, who stars in the Prime Video series, also expressed her sadness over the death of her co-star.
“Oh James…words cannot express how much you will be missed,” the 24-year-old wrote on her Instagram Stories.
“Thank you for your strength of mind and artistry,” she added.
For those who are not at home, Elle will be released on Prime Video on July 1.
