Reese Witherspoon about sending children to the university, ‘I am shat’

Reese Witherspoon opens about one of the most emotional chapters of her life and sends her children to the university.

The morning show Star, 49, thought about how difficult it was when her oldest children, Ava Phillippe, 26, and Deacon Phillippe, 21, who she shares with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, left the house to continue their studies.

“I mourned them to the university and cried in their rooms,” Witerspoon admitted on the episode of 20 September of The interview Podcast.

“A year one of them did not come home for Christmas and I was in their bed and just cried.”

The Oscar winner, who is also the mother of 12-year-old son Tennessee with ex-husband Jim Toth, explained why the transition was so overwhelming.

“It’s a loss because you do everything for them,” she said. “You remove the food from your mouth, the jacket from your back. You don’t sleep.”

Witherspoon further described by describing the constant concerns that is provided with parenthood.

“You don’t sleep because you either take care of their physical needs when they are small. Or when they are older, you are just so worried that they will have a car accident whether they will come home or drugs are involved.”

Yet she acknowledged that letting go is part of parenting.

“You just make sure that the parents have, you know? And one day it is a bit like, when you have done your job, you have done the right things, they go,” she said.

“It makes me tears now. It’s just very difficult. But you know you have done the right things.”

Now that her children are adults, Witherspoon says that their relationship has grown into something new and special.

‘Ava will call me and just be like a great friend. Deacon calls me all the time, we hang around in New York and he will tell me about cool restaurants and I will say: ‘Great. Can you get a reservation? ‘Because he can get better reservations than I can now. ‘
