Rita Wilson remembers her longtime friends Rob and Michele Reiner after their tragic deaths
The 69 year old actress broke her silence on the death of her late friends in a recent conversation with Variety and paid a hearty tribute.
Rita, who shared the screen with Rob Mixed nuts And Sleepless in Seattlesaid that the films Rob made “will be there to experience again and again,” but “what can never be experienced again is meeting Rob and Michele in the neighborhood.”
“And a great laugh, or a dinner where Michele only wants to have one conversation,” she continued, noting that the couple was known for hosting “Bad Showbiz Night” parties, where guests brought their “worst showbiz moment and shared it with a room full of celebrities, who also dared to expose their own show.”
It is pertinent to mention that Rob and Michele were found dead in their Los Angeles home on December 14. Their son Nick has been taken into custody and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
While remembering Michele, Wilson praised her, saying she was “a talented photographer who had a keen eye for her work and her life.”
Despite being the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, Wilson said, “Michele found beauty every day.”
Wilson shared insights into the couple’s family dynamics, writing, “They loved their children. All of them. They did everything right. They loved. They were loved.”
“It’s hard to reconcile the goodness they brought to the world with this ending. It doesn’t make sense, but the way they lived makes a lot of sense in the world,” Wilson concluded.
