Rob Reiner, a longtime Hollywood director, was found dead along with his wife Singer Reiner at their home in Brentwood, Los Angeles on Sunday.
But as new details about the investigation come to light, it points to intrigue: no forced entry sign and multiple stab wounds.
This was reported by The Los Angeles Times as police have not made an arrest so far, but an unnamed family member was reportedly interviewed in a case described as a murder.
The couple has four children, and one of them was found in the room some time after the attack.
Earlier, a spokesperson for Rob’s family confirmed the couple’s deaths. “It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss and we ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time.”
Meanwhile, several celebrities shared their shocked reactions to Rob’s death. Jamie Lee Curtis, who worked with him at the Spinal Tap, wrote a message: “Christopher and I are numb, sad and shocked over the violent, tragic deaths of our dear friends Rob and Michelle Singer Reiner.”
“And our ONLY focus and concern at this time is for their children and immediate families, and we will provide whatever support we can to help them.”
Ben Stiller similarly shared his condolences, writing, “was a kind, caring person who was very, very funny,” and “made some of the most formative films for my generation.”
