Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were recently brutally murdered in their Los Angeles home.

The death of the director of a beloved film Stay with me has led to theories about the curse of Hollywood. Insiders recently said this Radaronline that the murder of Rob and Michele has stirred whispers of tragedy among those they are connected to Stay with me.

A veteran producer told the outlet, “People are openly calling it a curse again. When you look at what happened to Rob, River Phoenix, and the trauma others have carried for decades, it feels like a pattern that people can’t ignore.”

Meanwhile, an industry insider noted: “It’s irrational, but grief always searches for meaning. The ‘Stand By Me curse’ movie is talked about again and again when tragedy strikes someone involved in its making.”

The film, based on Stephen King’s novella The Body, starred River Phoenix, Jerry O’Connell, Kiefer Sutherland and more. While the cast rose to fame with the film, several also faced public strife.

In 1993, River also died in Los Angeles at the age of 23 due to a drug overdose. The young star’s death shocked Hollywood and remains one of the most tragic stories of child stardom ending in catastrophe.

“River’s death was the first crack in the idea that Stand By Me was just a beautiful nostalgia piece. Then people started talking and saying there was a curse on the film,” said one music executive.

Their bodies were discovered by their daughter Romy around 3:30 p.m. Although Nick has been arrested on two counts of first-degree murder, the exact motive has not been released.
