Cinematographer Barry Markowitz revealed shocking details about Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer’s relationship with their children.
Barry, who was a good friend of the late Backbone director, said the couple enjoyed loving dinners and TV time with their children just weeks before their violent deaths.
Rob’s friend made the shocking statement on Tuesday during an interview with Page six about his recent stay at the filmmaker’s Brentwood residence.
“I may have been one of the last people to see them,” he told the newspaper.
Barry explained that the Princess Bride The director invited him to stay at his house while he was in town for the premiere of his new movie, The perfect gamble.
“They would say, ‘You stay here. You don’t go to a hotel. There is no refrigerator, good toilet paper, no family,'” Photography recalls.
Barry said that he lived with Rob, Michele and their children – Nick and Romy – for five nights. However, the couple’s other son, Jake, was busy with work elsewhere.
“Romy was in and out [of the house] and at dinnertime she comes over and we’re all together,” he said, describing their time together.
“[We would] yelling at the TV, we watched a movie and a basketball game. Played with the dogs. Family time. One big love celebration,” says Barry.
“I slept in the same house as Nick,” the award-winning cameraman said, adding that at no point did Rob express any concern for his safety.
For those unfamiliar, Rob and Michele Singer were found dead in their LA home on December 14.
Police arrested the couple’s son, Nick, on Tuesday on suspicion of murdering his parents.
