Robbie Williams has parted ways with his long-time manager Michael Loney.
According to The sun, the 52-year-old English singer-songwriter has been working with Loney for 14 years.
Loney works for ie:music, the company that Williams’ late manager David Enthoven founded with Tim Clarke in 1992.
The Rule the world crooner shared his statement with the outlet, saying, “It’s been an incredible time and I’ve been fortunate to be guided by some truly amazing people — especially David Enthoven, Tim Clark and Michael Loney.”
Williams revealed that the reason behind this big change is that he has “so many opportunities,” but he also sees that the “music business is changing so quickly” and that it requires “new energy.”
“I am currently putting together a brand new team and am extremely excited about the future,” he revealed.
It is pertinent to mention that an insider told the same channel that Loney has stepped down from eight positions so that the Beyond the sea hitmaker can feel ‘fresh energy’. However, the decision is still ‘completely amicable’.
They further claimed that Williams is shaking up his team because he is desperate for “more hits and more success.”
“Robbie is a workhorse – and now he has the bit between his teeth and is hungry for more records, more hits and more success,” the source said. “Shaking up his team gives him the feeling of a good new start.”
Early this year, “he broke The Beatles’ record, which filled him with the desire to raise the bar as high as possible in the future.”
