Rosalía offers a rare glimpse into her emotional world and how loneliness shapes her art.
During a performance at the New York Times Popcastthe Spanish superstar reflected on the personal struggles that shape her creativity.
The 33-year-old recently released her fourth studio album, Luxon November 7, 2025.
When asked how she deals with the feeling of being alone, Rosalía did not shy away from honesty.
“Loneliness is my lesson in this life,” she said.
“I have such a hard time feeling lonely. I really don’t like loneliness. I’m a very social person. I like being surrounded by my friends. I like being surrounded by my family.”
The La Perla singer admitted that she thrives on emotional connection: “I love having a partner and sharing with a partner. I love affection. I guess I always have to believe that there is a possibility to… have faith in love.”
When the interviewer called her a “romantic,” Rosalía laughed and agreed that she was “too much” of one.
They then noted that it can be complicated to be both a romantic and a “serial monogamist.”
Rosalía recognized the conflict between balancing her personal life and a global career.
“I notice that I always have to be in a different country than where I come from to be able to do my work… to be able to follow this path,” says the La Fama artist explained.
