Rosé Breaks Records With Landmark Grammy Nominations for ‘APT’

Rosé has officially made Grammy Awards history.

The 28 year old Black pink The singer became the first K-pop idol to have a song nominated in the six major overall categories of the Grammys: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Producer of the Year (Non-Classical) and Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical).

Rosé and her collaborator Bruno Mars received nominations for record of the year and song of the year for their hit single APTtogether with a nod to the best pop duo/group performance.

This achievement cements Rosé’s status as one of the most globally recognized K-pop artists of her generation.

“It gives me chills now,” Rosé said The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year when asked about potentially making history. “I think it will be a moment that will prove to myself so many things that I doubted as a child. I think if this happens, it will mean more to so many more people than just me. It will prove a lot in me too. It will just be a moment of celebration for everyone who believes.”

In addition to her Grammy recognition, Rosé won Song of the Year at the MTV VMAs APTwhich spent no less than 45 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.

The track appears on her debut solo album Rosie, released in December 2024, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

Her groundbreaking nominations, in addition to those for KPop Demon Hunters and girl group KATSEIJmark a major milestone for K-pop’s growing dominance in the global music industry – a path first paved by BTS’ historic 2021 Grammy nod for Dynamite.
