Sadie Sink has contributed to the fan favorite seventh episode of Stranger thingswhich offered insight into the emotional impact it had on both viewers and the cast.
During her final confessional with The Hollywood Reporterthe actress was asked how it felt when the cast learned that her character, Max, would finally wake up after being unconscious for three years.
“I can’t remember if we did a table read for episode seven,” Sink said at the outset.
She went on to explain that while Max’s return was always expected, the uncertainty of how and when it would happen made the moment even more meaningful.
“I mean, we all knew she was going to wake up eventually. She had to, but we didn’t know how or when,” she said, adding that the scene quickly became one of her favorites to film.
“It had been so long since I had done anything with my friends that I have been working with for ten years.”
Reflecting on the emotional core of the episode, Sink noted, “It was a nice moment to have in the midst of all the craziness, and it was a good reminder of how human this show is sometimes.”
She concluded by praising the reunion between Max and Lucas, saying, “Seeing the bond between Max and Lucas and that reunion felt very, very special. And it was so emotional to watch.”
