According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, Savannah Guthrie’s mother Nancy is in grave danger.
Nancy went missing on January 31 and after some investigation, the police concluded that she did not go anywhere alone and was kidnapped.
“We don’t want anyone to lose hope. So that’s always there, and that’s a good thing. But in the same sense, just as there is hope, there are also things that point to us and say, ‘This lady is in danger,'” Nanos shared. We weekly.
He explained that even if Nancy went out alone, she had been missing for over a day and must have been exposed to the elements, which is dangerous. It is also revealed that Nancy is on medication to survive and will likely be without it.
“Even if she were to leave that home and still be with us, we will be on call 24 hours a day. We have spoken to her medical professionals, but we know her element, and we know what medications she needs and going without her medications… could be fatal. And 24 hours later… the time has come [of] the essence here,” he explained.
At an earlier press conference, authorities revealed that Nancy “did not leave alone” and that they “don’t view this as much of a search mission” as of a crime scene. “She couldn’t walk 50 meters on her own,” she added.
Meanwhile, Nanos was also asked how the Guthrie family is dealing with the worrying situation.
“As you can imagine, this is tough on all of them,” he said. “They lean on each other. They work very well with us and everything we do. They are involved and committed. It’s difficult, there’s no doubt about that.”
