Saturday evening live alum Garrett Morris is celebrating his 89th birthday with one big regret.
The 89-year-old American actor and comedian, the first black cast member of Saturday evening live (SNL), turned 89 today, February 1, 2026.
Morris appeared Saturday evening live from 1975 to 1980 he then worked on famous television series, including 2 Broke Girls, The Jeffersons, Martin, and others.
He also proved his name in the film world, such as the films he has to his credit Car wash And Cooley High.
Car wash will celebrate its 50th anniversary in October this year Cooley High completed 50 years in June 2025.
Morris gave PEOPLE magazine an interview before his birthday, in which he said, “Ask me what I’m going to do on my birthday.”
“Regret the passing of time,” the legendary actor claimed.
Expressing his thoughts on retirement, he said, “I just thought if you enjoy your work, do it the best you can, in whatever way you can, until you transform.”
“I mean, let’s be realistic: There are fewer roles for an 80-year-old who has arthritis, but there are roles,” Morris noted.
