Sophie Turner, one Game of Thrones alum, takes on the iconic role of Lara Croft and explains the preparation behind it.
“I can’t say much but my preparation started in February this year (2025). I have been training for a long time now, come on a year and we will start shooting in January,” she says. Screen Rant.
She continues, “I’m really excited, but I feel prepared, and I feel really fortunate to have such a great relationship with Amazon, and I’m excited that the world will see what we’re doing with Lara and Tomb Raider. I think it’s going to be something special.”
Additionally, Jason Isaacs, Sigourney Weaver and Martin Bobb-Semple will join the series, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge joining as creator, who previously raved about the announcement that Sophie would be coming on board.
“I’m so excited to announce the formidable Sophie Turner as our Lara alongside this phenomenal creative team. It’s not often that you get to create a show of this magnitude with a character you grew up loving,” she said at the time.
The live-action adaptation from Amazon MGM Studios will go on floors on January 19. It is unclear when the series will have a release date.
