Taylor Swift dancer under attack after ‘Dancing With the Stars’ performance

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Dance Jan Ravnik Gets Dragged By ‘DWTS’ Alum

Jan Ravnik, who accompanied Taylor Swift from start to finish on the Eras Tour, was one of the professional dancers on Dancing with the stars season 34. Still, some people accused him of being underqualified for the role.

The 34-year-old dancer worked with Jen Affleck on the show, but a former professional dancer, Maks Chmerkovskiy, harshly criticized his abilities, even going so far as to claim he was chosen because of his connection to the pop superstar, 35.

Chmerkovskiy and his wife Peta Murgatroyd responded to Ravnik’s dancing on her podcast: The Penthouse with Peta podcast, which says, “There is no foundation, technique, quality, understanding of the partnership whatsoever.”

He continued, “Brother, I’m getting emotional. It’s absurd, and this is unreal how blind we have to be, and God forbid we say what’s obvious.”

The former dancer further stated that hiring Ravnik was a “missed opportunity” to bring in someone with more experience, while his wife added, “They hired him. He’s a Taylor Swift dancer. It’s the obvious reason why he was hired.”

However, Swifties were quick to defend Ravnik on social media, with one person writing: ‘No ‘understanding of the partnership?’ That guy danced with a ladder and made it look hot,” referring to one of his Eras Tour routines.

While another commented: “God even people associated with Taylor are getting dragged in I’m so sorry,” and “It’s getting bitter,” a third wrote.

One Swiftie joked: “There’s a reason why he dances for Taylor Swift and she doesn’t.”

Despite fan support, the team of Ravnik and Affleck suffered a shocking elimination in the final episode after they performed a contemporary dance to Swift’s Look what you made me do.
