Taylor Swift and Hailee Steinfeld became friends long before she starred in the pop superstar’s Bad Blood music video, but fans are wondering if they still are.
The Eras Tour artist, 35, and Steinfeld, 28, are rarely, if ever, seen together, and the Dickinson star no longer appears to be part of Swift’s inner circle.
The Love myself hitmaker’s connection with the Opal singer found herself back in the spotlight following the Grammy winner’s alleged drama with Charli XCX.
The 365 singer and Steinfeld both have a similar history with Swift, as they have both performed with her, and it is believed that they rose to fame in their early careers for the Anti-hero hitmaker.
Speaking to X, a social media user shared a video of Steinfeld claiming she is ungrateful to Swift.
Steinfeld, who is married to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, was seen in the video supporting his team and shading Swift’s friend, Travis Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
One fan defended Steinfeld, writing that her “hatred of the Chiefs has nothing to do with Taylor” because her loyalty is to her husband’s team.
However, many brought up the 2016 drama when Swift had a public feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, recalling that Steinfeld “betrayed Taylor the moment Kimye happened,” admitting they weren’t friends to begin with.
One Swiftie argued, “Taylor brought her exposure to the masses by being friends with her and including her in one of the biggest music videos of the 1910s.”
One social media user explained, “I think the majority of Swifties are high school students, or maybe elementary school students. This woman has a successful career and actually married her NFL player. Taylor didn’t give her success. She was nominated for an Oscar long before Taylor.”
Although the two former friends appear to be keeping their distance, Steinfeld spoke about his attempt to attend the Eras Tour in 2023, and Swift “liked” the Capital letters singer’s engagement post in 2024.
