Taylor Swift talks about the unexpected but powerful impact Emma Stone had on the Eras Tour.

In her new Disney+ docuseries Taylor Swift: The Eras tour | The end of an erathe singer reflects on how her longtime friend quietly shaped one of the tour’s defining elements.

According to PEOPLE Magazine, Stone made an important recommendation that ultimately helped bring Swift’s artistic vision to life.

“As far as choreography goes, I asked one of my friends, Emma Stone, who has done a lot of dance work in her films,” Swift recalls.

“Who have you worked with that you would recommend for this?” She says, ‘There’s only one person who needs to be on your list, and that’s Mandy Moore.'”

Stone had worked with Moore on the 2016 Oscar-winning film La La Land, and the reference quickly led to a collaboration.

Moore admitted she was surprised she was even considered, explaining that she typically prefers film work “because her songs are mini-movies.”

“I never in my life thought I would ever be in the same sentence as Taylor Swift. You know, I’ve always been a huge fan, but funny enough, I really come from more film and television. I don’t really do artist performances,” Moore said.

“Now I understand why I was brought in, because she really wanted to do something different, and she loves telling stories,” she concluded.
