Taylor Swift’s ‘Life of a Showgirl’ gets zero Grammy nods: Here’s why

Swift released her 12th studio album on October 3, 2025

Relax, Swifties; Taylor Swift wasn’t snubbed by the Grammys this year; she just didn’t qualify.

When the Recording Academy announced the nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards on Friday, the pop superstar’s name was noticeably missing from the list. But her last album, The life of a showgirlis not eligible because it was released outside the entry period.

The window for the 68th Grammys ran from August 31, 2024 to August 30, 2025 – and Swift’s twelfth studio album was released on October 3, 2025, more than a month late.

That means The life of a showgirl will instead be eligible for the 2027 Grammys. Swift also did not release any singles, videos or projects within this year’s qualifying period, leaving her out of contention for 2026 nominations.

Fans were quick to respond online. “Taylor Swift has no Grammy nominations????” one fan wrote on

Still, Swift’s Grammy legacy remains strong. The fourteen-time winner holds the record for the most Album of the Year wins (four in total). Fearless, 1989, FolkloreAnd Midnights. Last year her Department of Martyred Poets album scored six nominations, but went home empty-handed.

While Swift has yet to confirm whether she will attend the 2026 ceremony, she could easily steal the spotlight again — as a host, performer, or just by showing up.
