After landing her first nomination at the Academy Awards, the singer and actress admitted that she had already started preparing for her speech.
Taylor earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film One Battle After Another.
The film, released on September 26, 2025, stars Taylor as Perfidia Beverly Hills. The role brought her major recognition during awards season, including a Golden Globe win.
Ahead of Hollywood’s biggest night, Taylor spoke to TMZ at the pre-Oscars party on Thursday, March 12, 2026, where she shared that she had started writing an acceptance speech “just in case” her name was called during the ceremony.
Moreover, she also imitated a bewildered expression of herself when she went on stage.
It is relevant to mention that in addition to Teyana Taylor, there are also big names such as Elle Fanning for Sentimental Value and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, also for Sentimental Value, in the Academy Awards category.
