Teyana Taylor wasted the advice costar Leonardo DiCaprio gave her after receiving two major nominations this awards season.
In a recent conversation with E! News at the Critics’ Choice Association’s 8th Annual Celebration of Black Film and Television on December 9 One battle after another star expressed her excitement when she got a Golden Globes And Critics Choice Awards nodded under her belt and shared Leonardo’s words of wisdom on how to deal with success.
“Pacing myself and having fun with it,” she told the outlet, “Don’t go down a rabbit hole, just have fun with it and that’s exactly what I do.”
Teyana, a mother of two, laid out her plans to take things a little easier for her birthday as she turned 35 on December 10.
“I get on the plane, the first flight to pick up my kids from school and honestly, that’s it. Auntie is tired,” she revealed.
“I just want to relax and take a breath and love those babies,” Teyana added.
It is pertinent to mention that Teyana shares daughters Iman, 9, and Rue, 5, with ex Iman Shumpert.
In a previous interview at the film’s premiere in September, Teyana praised Leonardo’s company.
“Leo is a fun time. He’s so much fun. That’s my brother. He’s a mentor and a great leader on set.”
Leonardo shared the sentiment about Teyana, saying at the premiere, “She has the best sense of humor. I knew when she was included in this movie, I thought, ‘This girl is going to bring the heat.’ And she did. She’s a great hang. She’s great.”
