Tiger Woods is taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence after his involvement in a rollover accident in Florida.
According to reports, the professional golfer was driving down a street on Friday, March 27 and crashed into a car, causing his Range Rover to overturn, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred around 2:00 PM ET, as reported by the Law Enforcement Division.
After Tiger’s vehicle sped down the road, he climbed out the passenger window.
When police arrived shortly after the incident, they found Tiger weak and lethargic and administered an alcohol test. However, it registered 0.00%.
Sheriff Budensiek said during a news conference that they believe Tiger was under the influence of drugs rather than alcohol.
If TMZ reported that Tiger refused a urine test at the police station and officials booked him for driving under the influence, along with refusing to submit to urinalysis.
This isn’t the first time Tiger has been arrested for driving under the influence. In 2017, he was arrested for the same reason, also in Florida, and a bodycam showed him lethargic.
He said in a statement at the time: “I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescription medications. I had no idea the mix of medications was affecting me so much.”
Another time, in 2021, he almost lost one of his limbs in a car accident in Los Angeles. He was not taken into custody at the time.
