In 2005 War of the WorldsElle Fanning’s sister, Dakota, starred as a child artist in a film directed by Tom Cruise. On set, both sisters formed a close bond with the megastar.
Now the duo has been reunited at the Saturn Awards.
In photos, the megastar is seen spotting the actress, who won Best Actress at the award show Predator: Badlandsand come to her.
Cruise embraced her in a big hug and kissed her as they both smiled and cheered while looking dapper.
She was six when her sister Dakota starred War of the Worlds.
In an earlier interview, the actress – who drew a chalk sketch of Cruise on set – recalled: “I remember my picture [I gave him] was from one of the War of the Worlds things: it was my sister and him running away.
“It was a colored pencil photo. That’s my memory of meeting him. And he said he remembered. Looks like he does!’ she added.
Meanwhile, Cruise was close to Elle’s sister Dakota. He even gifted the latter her first mobile phone on her eleventh birthday.
Since then, the megastar has given the actress a birthday gift, which the actress shared in a previous interview.
“He always sends me the same thing every year, after the cell phone,” she said, adding that Cruise gave him birthday presents, which are always “shoes.”
“I loved shoes when I was little, and I started fitting into really small adult shoes when I was on the War of the Worlds press tour, so I was really excited about it. And so from that birthday onward, he always sends me shoes,” she concluded.
