The Toronto Raptors will be significantly shorthanded when they take on the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night, with several key players ruled out due to injury and illness.
The team confirmed that RJ Barrett will miss the Raptors-Pacers game due to an ankle injury.
Jakob Poeltl is also out due to a back injury, and Sandro Mamukealshvili due to illness.
Aside from that, Immanuel Quickly and Garrett Temple will also miss the game as they are both dealing with back spasms.
Quickley and Mamukelashvili were added to the injury report late Wednesday morning. Barrett was injured late in Friday’s loss to the Boston Celtics after spraining his ankle.
The injury comes after Barrett missed 15 games earlier this season due to a knee injury, as Toronto posted a 6-9 record.
Poeltl has dealt with lower back issues all year and was limited to just seven minutes in a Dec. 21 game against Brooklyn before retiring.
His production has dropped to 9.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game after signing a three-year, $84 million contract extension following a career-best 2024-25 season.
