Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce appear to be in deep waters with the NFL star’s ex, Kayla Nicole, launching a brutal attack on the couple.
The 33-year-old sportscaster took to Instagram on Friday, October 31, and showed off her Halloween look, which fans took as an apparent swipe at the pop superstar, 35, and her now fiancé.
Nicole’s costume for the spooky holiday was Toni Braxton’s look of hers He wasn’t man enough music video, and shared her video of herself dancing to the song, along with photos against different backgrounds.
Social media users were quick to point out that the song choice seemed to be a shade towards her ex-boyfriend and Swift, as one person noted: ‘The shade is real. [laugh emoji]”, another added: “This is how you have the last laugh…”, referring to the constant exchange of subtle comments between the Eras Tour artist and Nicole.
“Is anyone going to check on TayTay?” chimed in a third, while others criticized the influencer for attacking the newly engaged couple: “Stop embarrassing yourself online, it’s been three years.”
One quickly wrote, “It’s actually romantic,” quoting the Grammy winner’s song of the same name.
The song Nicole chose had the lyrics: “Listen, girl / Who do you think I am? / Don’t you know he was my man? / But I chose to let him go / So why do you act like I still care about him?”
The shade seemed to be a blow back to Swift’s attack on Nicole in her new song, Opalwhere she sings, “You couldn’t understand / Why you felt alone / You were really in it / She was in her phone / You were just a pose,” which was believed to be about a famous video of Kelce and Nicole in which he asked her to put down her phone.
