Tyler, The Creator was forced to postpone his Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival due to “heavy rainstorms” in Los Angeles.
The American rapper and singer, whose real name is Tyler Gregory Okonma, was supposed to visit Dodger Stadium but before he could, rain hit LA this weekend, prompting him to postpone the planned two-day event.
On Friday, November 14, the two-time Grammy winner took to Instagram to announce the new date in the wake of predictions of heavy rain in Southern California in the coming days.
Notably, much of Southern California is under flood watch, with up to a month’s worth of rain expected in a single day.
“Due to the fact that this storm became an atmospheric downpour, we had two choices: cancel or move to next weekend. We chose the latter,” he shared in a statement on social media.
The heavy rains could cause dangerous flash flooding, especially in scarred areas of Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties affected by this year’s wildfires.
“We understand this isn’t ideal, so we’re offering refunds. For everyone else. We’ll see you next weekend,” he added.
Created by the 34-year-old artist in 2012, this year’s carnival will now take place on November 22-23.
The Camp Flog Gnaw lineup includes ASAP Rocky, Childish Gambino, Doechii, Earl Sweatshirt, GloRilla, 2 Chainz, T-Pain and more.
For the unversed, Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival is celebrating its eleventh year, after a three-year hiatus during the Covid pandemic.
