Uber partners with Starship technologies to launch robot delivery in Britain

Uber has announced a major partnership with Starship Technologies to integrate autonomous curbside delivery robots into its Uber Eats platform, with plans to expand to other European markets next year and the US in 2027.

In particular, this marks an important step to accelerate the adoption of last-mile delivery automation.

In this regard, Uber Eats consumers will be able to receive their orders via Starship’s robot deliveries in the Leeds and Sheffield areas.

The latest partnership is part of a series of deals Uber has made with autonomous vehicle and technology companies as the company steps up efforts to automate various aspects of its operations to increase growth.

It has been observed that Uber has already formed an alliance with Avride and Serve Robotics for robotic food delivery in the United States.

The company further stated that these partnerships will help upgrade its systems while providing customers with a smooth and revolutionary delivery experience.

San Francisco-based Starship’s robots will operate at Level 4 autonomy, meaning they can work within a defined area without manual assistance.

Furthermore, the new deal will be a prominent strategic inflation point for Uber, reinforcing its commitment to autonomy as the future backbone of its delivery experience and raising the bar for the entire logistics industry.
