Victoria Beckham has opened up about how she manages to stay calm during ‘intense situations’, admitting she learned this from being a mother of four.
The fashion designer, 51, recently gave fans a sneak peek into her career and personal life with her Netflix docuseries of the same name this month.
For context, the three-part series followed the former Spice Girl in the lead-up to her Paris Fashion Week show in September 2024, the biggest runway event she has ever hosted.
Now the beloved wife of David Beckham has revealed how she manages to remain outwardly calm in stressful situations.
Speaking to Krista Smith on the Skip Intro podcast, Victoria explained that she has learned to “internalize” her feelings so as not to affect those around her, but admitted that “there’s a lot going on inside.”
She said:
“I think I’ve always been a pretty disciplined person. You know, that’s just who I am. That’s how I live my life. But I do, I can handle those intense situations quite well.
“And this is how I choose to lead my team. I have to internalize those things because if I don’t, it has a domino effect, and this is not productive.
“And I surround myself with great people. We will work together very closely and very well. And I am aware of that. Is one of my, call it leadership qualities, if you will.
‘I’m the glass half full. I am very positive. I believe in positive energy. But there’s a lot going on inside.’
Victoria also admitted that motherhood has taught her to be disciplined, admitting that she is a bit of a control freak.”
She said, “Well, listen, let’s face it, I have four kids too. Okay, so I guess that’s what you learn as a mother, you know? ‘
The truth is, I’m a control freak. Well, I say I went into the documentary process as a control freak and came out the other side a reformed control freak, because I didn’t have that control.’
Her comments come amid reports of an ongoing rift between her and David’s eldest son, Brooklyn, and his wife, Nicola Peltz, 30, with the family reportedly unable to speak to each other for months.
In addition to Brooklyn, Victoria is also mom to Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14.
