Victoria Beckham is reportedly heartbroken following the news that Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz are considering adopting their first child.
Despite the ongoing feud, insiders said Closer magazine that the former Spice Girl, Victoria still has hope that everything will work out. “Vic harbors a glimmer of hope that when a baby comes, it will remind everyone what really matters. She has always believed that the arrival of a child can heal wounds and bring families back together,” the source said.
This comes amid reports that Brooklyn and Nicola are considering adopting their first child. The young couple has reportedly been talking about adoption for years, motivated by their desire to give back and have a big family.
“While it wasn’t a shock to them, Victoria is understandably triggered by any talk of Brooklyn and Nicola starting a family. The recent stories have deepened her grief even further,” said an insider.
She added: “She always imagined that when Brooklyn’s baby – her first grandchild – arrived, she would host family dinners, babysit, be part of every milestone and spend more time with them in the United States. It’s something she’s always dreamed of. So the thought of not being a hands-on grandmother is devastating and painful.”
Victoria is said to “pray” that Brooklyn will realize the importance of family and “pave the way for reconciliation” after she becomes a parent. However, Victoria’s “greatest fear has always been being completely removed from her grandchild’s life, so the possibility of that happening is crushing.”
On the other hand, David Beckham would try to remain realistic and encourage his wife Victoria Beckham to prepare for the possibility that a baby cannot fix what is broken.
“David has tried to be the steadfast one. He’s told Victoria to prepare herself that things might not change and that a baby won’t necessarily fix what’s broken. But Victoria is clinging to hope while her husband gently tries to manage her expectations — creating more tension between them behind the scenes,” the source explains.
