Wendi McLendon-Covey calls winter holidays ‘my season’

Wendi McLendon-Covey recently admitted that she goes crazy during the holidays.

During a conversation with PEOPLE magazine about the second season of her sitcom St. Denis Medical, the 56-year-old American actress talked about her plans for the winter holidays, which she enjoys the most.

However, in order to enjoy the holiday, Wendi starts preparing months in advance. She said, “I’ve scaled it up so that once Halloween is over, we’ll go straight into Christmas.”

“So all I have to do is take down some pumpkins, change some lights, take down the witches’ hats, put up the sugar plums, whatever. I’m doing the best I can. September to January 1st is my decorating season,” says the Bridesmaids star explained.

Interestingly, Wendi considers the holidays the “best time of year” because “when it gets dark early, you want to look at something beautiful,” she said.

For those who don’t know, the Army of one alum is widely known for creating an extravagant Halloween show at Covey Manor when the spooky season arrives.

She also wears a striking costume herself and enjoys it when other people dress up as her own iconic characters too.

“Well, Clemy, Deputy Johnson [from Reno 911]. I see a lot of these around Halloween. Lots of Beverlys [from The Goldbergs]. And just a lot of crazy cat ladies, because that’s me. But people send me pictures: ‘I thought of you, you were my inspiration.’ So that’s really fun,” said Wendi McLendon-Covey.
