Braylon Mullins, a baby-faced 19-year-old basketball player, dominates headlines with his stunning buzzer-beating shot to clinch victory over the Duke Blue Devils in the Elite Eight.
Despite being in the spotlight, very little is known publicly about his personal life, especially his dating history.
But a report surfaced from last year saying he has a love story that’s strikingly similar to a romcom/sports movie.
The UConn baller, the CT Insider said, has a girlfriend named Kylee. However, the pair were not lovers at first, but rivals.
Both studied at rival high schools. However, like a storyline straight out of a movie, the heated rivalry turned into a college romance when they reunited at the University of Connecticut.
According to the report, “She attended a rival high school in Indiana and will enroll at UConn later this month.”
With Kylee around him, reports say, Mullins has been better able to manage the chaos of fame that comes with a budding basketball career.
Kylee basks in the spotlight and plays a stabilizing role in the life of Mullins, who has great potential ahead of him.
“It will be comforting to have Kylee around,” Mullins said. So much else around him is new. He has a baby face and great potential to do adult basketball stuff right away. Of course he’s not afraid to shoot. He is not afraid to learn. He is not afraid of the spotlight.”
But here’s where real commitment comes under the scanner: If Mullins gets a call from the NBA, will Kylee join him?
