Jennifer Lopez’s twins Max and Emme had a “very atypical childhood” due to their parents changing work locations.

A recent report from American weekly shed light on Lopez’s children’s upbringing in different cities and talked about how her children are now “the closest” to her than ever before.

The multi-hyphenate, who recently celebrated her twins’ 18th birthday, welcomed her children with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

A source told the newspaper: “They had a very atypical childhood. They lived on and off between New York, Florida and California and attended boarding school in Florida for a while.

“For the past few years they have been attending school in California and living at Jennifer’s home, and this is the closest she has ever been to them in a more traditional way.”

Lopez and Anthony’s work has seen them “always moving around a lot and working in different locations,” as the insider noted: “Marc is known for his non-stop touring schedule.”

Specifically, “When the kids were little, they definitely spent more time with it [Anthony]and he would do whatever he could to accommodate their schedule, even sending private jets to take them to him.

“But” it “became more difficult and rarer,” due to “a variety of things.”

Including ‘the children who are getting older and are at boarding school, and Marc who travels. It wasn’t one thing.’

Now: ‘Jennifer is the primary parent’ and ‘[Marc] introduces himself to her. It works for everyone.”
