Hugh Jackman and his ex-wife Deborra-lee Furness have since become anxious; even after a divorce, they find it difficult to let go of the one thing that still binds them together.
A well-placed insider spilled the beans while speaking to Woman’s Day, explaining that the “tie” is a New York City apartment worth about $38.9 million (about $57.5 million). It has been on the market for a while, resulting in a price drop of almost $28.75 million.
For those unfamiliar with the specs, Woman’s Day reports that it’s located in the West Village, with five bedrooms and six bathrooms, and spread over three levels, the eighth through tenth floors, of a boutique condominium.
However, it is unable to take action and an insider claims: “It’s true that the market is slow and this price drop is more realistic after the pandemic, but the fact is that Hugh and Deb want to sell it – and the sooner the better. They are both over it. The divorce, the house of broken dreams – and each other.”
And then there’s the fact that the sale isn’t just about getting rid of real estate. For Hugh, the man who has been divorced since May last year, it is even the last hurdle to getting serious with Sutton. [Foster]. He wants a new, fresh start without complications with Deb and believes he owes that to both of them. He knows that Sutton is waiting to set a wedding date until he is completely free. Deb has made her life hell and she wants him to be as far away from her as possible. It’s a deal breaker for her.”
Before signing off, they also said, “Hugh and Deb will always play nice when the kids and cameras are around, but things between them are beyond repair. She wants nothing more to do with him. They’re both done. They’ve never been more desperate to move on — and getting rid of this property, even if it costs them $10 million, is the last hurdle.”
