Taylor Swift honors ‘Elizabeth Taylor’ in new music video

Taylor Swift has a special surprise for fans!

On Tuesday, the singer released the official music video for her song Elizabeth Taylor.

Delivering a visually rich tribute to Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor, Swift did not appear on screen herself, opting for a montage-like visual of Taylor’s most iconic performances.

The music video features moments from Taylor’s classics such as Cleopatra, Cat on a hot tin roof, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? And Father of the bride.

Currently, the music video is available exclusively on premium platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify Premium.

The song Elizabeth Taylor was on Taylor Swift’s album The life of a showgirl. It explores themes of fame, identity and public criticism through the lens of the late icon’s life.

The lyrics of the song go like this: “I’d cry my eyes violet/Elizabeth Taylor/Tell me really/Do you think it’s forever?/Been number one, but I’ve never had two/And I can’t have fun if I can’t have one…/Be my NY when Hollywood hates me/You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby/I’ve been number one, but I never had two/And I can’t have fun if I can’t have…you.

The legendary actress passed away on March 23, 2011 at the age of 79 due to congestive heart failure.
